Permanent Part-Time | 3 days per week | $61.15 per hour + super | Sydney CBD

WEA Sydney is one of Australia’s oldest and most respected providers of adult education. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manager: Vocational Education and Training (VET) to oversee our Registered Training Organisation (RTO) operations, ensure compliance, and lead the revitalisation and expansion of our VET programs.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with ASQA, AVETMISS, NCVER, and government standards.
  • Coordinating assessment review, validation sessions, and audits.
  • Supporting and developing trainers, maintaining trainer files, and promoting professional development.
  • Managing student records and assessment services, including RPL processes and certificate issuance.
  • Overseeing curriculum development, training needs analysis, and industry consultation.
  • Preparing training and assessment plans, course descriptions, and resources.
  • Identifying and tendering for funding opportunities, and managing reporting requirements.
  • Expanding WEA Sydney’s VET offerings to meet community and industry needs.

About You

You will bring proven experience in RTO compliance and management, with strong knowledge of the Standards for RTOs and adult education principles. You are detail-focused, proactive, and collaborative, with the ability to balance compliance requirements with innovative program development.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • TAE50122 (Diploma of Vocational Education and Training) or equivalent.
  • Experience in VET compliance and audit preparation.
  • Strong understanding of AVETMISS, ASQA, and funding requirements.
  • Ability to manage trainers and support continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to adult learning and WEA Sydney’s mission of lifelong
       education.

What We Offer

  • Permanent part-time role (0.6 FTE) – 21 hours per week across 3 days (negotiable).
  • Salary: $61.15 per hour plus superannuation.
